Contract Development · SaSame

Software built to a written spec. Delivered, not promised.

We are a new team. Our prices reflect that. The work does not. We take on scraping, document search (RAG), AI integrations and workflow automation — only in areas where we have working demos to show.

Scope document (excerpt)

From a delivered project spec (client redacted)
PROJECT: Competitor price monitor — [REDACTED] (e-commerce)
IN SCOPE:
  1. Scraper for 3 competitor sites (product name, price, stock flag), daily at 06:00 client time.
  2. Change detection — only price moves > 2% trigger a row.
  3. Output: Google Sheet (append) + Slack webhook alert.
  4. Runtime: client's own VPS (Ubuntu), systemd timer, full setup docs.
OUT OF SCOPE: sites behind login, CAPTCHAs solved manually, historical backfill beyond 30 days.
ACCEPTANCE: 7 consecutive days of successful runs with < 1% missed products.
FIXED PRICE: deposit + balance quoted in writing. Source code ownership: client, on final payment.

Excerpt from a real deliverable. Full version below.

Hiring freelance developers is a coin flip you pay for either way

The problem is rarely talent. It is scope, communication, and what happens after handover.

  • Vague scope, vague results

Most failed projects fail at the spec: "build a scraper" means ten different things. Without written acceptance criteria, you discover the disagreement at delivery — the expensive moment.

  • Rates hide the real cost

Upwork dev rates run $50–100+/hour. The meter runs during misunderstandings, rework, and "quick calls". Fixed-price with milestones moves that risk off you.

  • Handover is an afterthought

Code that works on the freelancer’s machine, with no docs and no deploy notes, is a future invoice. We treat the handover document as part of the deliverable, not a courtesy.

Scoped work, honest reporting

Spec before code

Every project starts with a written scope document you approve. No "we will figure it out".

Working demos, not slides

We only take work in areas where we can show you a running demo first.

Source code is yours

Full code handover with setup documentation. No lock-in, no licensing games.

Flat maintenance retainer

Optional monthly retainer for fixes, updates and small changes after delivery.

We bid only in domains where we have working demos: scraping, RAG/document search, AI integrations, workflow automation.

Three steps. All in writing.

Email-only delivery: no calls, no meetings. Everything arrives in writing, with a paper trail you can search later.

  1. 01

    Describe the project

After the deposit, reply to the intake email with what you need. We respond with a written scope and fixed quote.

  2. 02

    Approve the spec

You approve scope, milestones and the remaining balance in writing before we write code.

  3. 03

    Delivery in writing

Code, docs and a recorded walkthrough delivered by email. No calls, no meetings — everything documented.

Delivery handover (excerpt)

From a delivery email (project redacted)
DELIVERY — RAG document search, v1.0
What you are receiving:
  - Repository (zip + private Git invite): ingestion pipeline, search API, minimal web UI.
  - SETUP.md — tested from scratch on a clean Ubuntu 22.04 VM (took 24 minutes).
  - 12-minute recorded walkthrough (link, no login needed).
Acceptance checklist results: 47/47 test queries returned the correct source document in top 3.
Known limitation (documented): scanned PDFs without OCR are skipped and logged, not silently dropped.
Next: you have a 14-day written-support window for setup questions, included.

No teaser. The whole thing.

Sample deliverable — Project Spec & Handover

Most agencies show you a quote card and ask for a call. We publish the complete deliverable, every email and every section, so you know exactly what your money buys before you spend it.

What actually happens after you pay

  2. Day 1–3Written spec with acceptance tests and a fixed quote for the balance. You approve in writing — or take the refund.
  3. MilestonesBuild ships in agreed milestones, each with a written progress note. No silent weeks.
  4. DeliveryCode + handover doc (setup, deploy, known limits) + 14 days of written support included.

Why so cheap? An honest answer

We are a new company with zero testimonials. We could fake some — plenty do — or we could price the risk honestly and let the work speak. We chose the second. These prices buy our first hundred reference clients; they will not stay this low.

We also say no a lot. By staying inside four domains we have already built, estimation error — the thing that bankrupts fixed-price work — stays small. You get agency-grade process at freelancer prices because we refuse the projects that would blow it up.

Our guarantee

If the first deliverable is not useful, reply "refund" within 14 days of delivery and we return 100% of what you paid. No forms, no calls, no questions.

Honest answers

Who are you?+

SaSame SRL, a small development team in Bucharest, Romania. New as a company, with working demos in scraping, RAG and AI integrations that we will happily send you before you commit.

Why is the deposit so low?+

The deposit starts the scoping conversation and filters for serious projects; the full quote depends on scope and is agreed in writing. We are new, so we price entry low and earn the rest.

What does email-only mean?+

Scoping, approvals, progress updates and delivery all happen in writing. Walkthroughs are recorded videos, not live calls. You get complete documentation by default.

What if I do not approve the spec?+

If we cannot agree on a written scope after the deposit, we refund the deposit minus nothing — a spec disagreement is on us to prevent.

How do I cancel the retainer?+

Reply "cancel" or use the Stripe portal link in your receipt. End of billing period. Your code and docs are already yours.

What happens after I pay?+

Intake email within one business day. You describe the project, we reply with questions, then a written scope + fixed quote. Code starts only after your written approval.

Start with one scoped piece of work.

We are a new team. Our prices reflect that. The work does not. Pick a plan, or email us your situation first. Both paths end in writing.
